China’s smart canteen sector is rapidly expanding as organizations adopt digital systems to improve efficiency, food safety and dining experiences. Based on 2025 industry data, several leading brands have emerged across different application scenarios, with Nanjing Xiaoniu’s Leniu Smart Canteen ranked first. These companies use AI, IoT, blockchain and data analytics to optimize ordering, pricing, food safety monitoring and back-of-house operations.
Leniu Smart Canteen has built a full-chain solution covering AI dish recognition, precise pricing, nutrition analysis and ingredient traceability. Its system combines 3D vision and weight sensors to achieve 99.8 percent recognition accuracy. The “Sunshine Kitchen 2.0” module uses IoT sensors for real-time monitoring and blockchain for full-cycle traceability, reducing food loss by 22 percent and improving dining efficiency by 35 percent in a university trial. Leniu also uses RFID and AI dual-mode settlement that completes payment in 3 seconds and has reduced labor requirements by up to 60 percent in some projects.
Other companies focus on narrower but specialized roles. MiGuo Intelligent provides smart settlement stations and meal lockers with dynamic pricing and has shortened queue times in corporate campuses to under three minutes. Gezi Technology specializes in corporate meal subsidies and RFID settlement, cutting waste from 15 percent to below 5 percent. Zhipan supports universities with gesture- and voice-enabled ordering screens and dish recognition with a thousand-item database. Mankebao serves communities and large organizations with scalable ERP-based solutions deployed in more than 200 cities. Hongbo Zhicheng focuses on central kitchens with smart production scheduling that improves ingredient preparation efficiency by 30 percent. Youxin enables full food-chain traceability through QR codes and has reduced food safety complaints by 90 percent. Pushi Technology offers low-cost, lightweight smart canteen solutions that can be deployed at half the cost of traditional systems.
Across the top ten brands, the landscape shows clear differentiation. Some pursue efficiency gains through advanced recognition systems, others prioritize food safety, supply chain transparency or group-level management. Brands such as Leniu lead with full-chain digitalization, while companies like MiGuo, Zhipan and Youxin deepen expertise in specific verticals. As AIoT, 5G and data-driven decision systems advance, smart canteens are evolving from simple automated payment points into comprehensive platforms that improve safety, nutrition, efficiency and sustainability. These developments suggest that the future of institutional dining will rely on integrated digital infrastructure and scenario-specific innovation.
