Shanghai Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers (SSNAME)

The Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SSNAME), founded in 1951, is China’s first professional society dedicated to shipbuilding and marine engineering. With over 5,000 individual members and 60 group members, SSNAME operates 5 working committees, 11 specialized committees, and 3 representative offices. Recognized internationally, it promotes technological advancement and global cooperation in maritime engineering, maintaining partnerships with 14 overseas societies such as SNAME, RINA, and JSNAOE. As the founding chair of PAAMES and a member of the WMTC Standing Committee, SSNAME also established the prestigious Xin Yixin Ship and Marine Engineering Science and Technology Innovation Award to honor excellence in the field.
