Shenzhen Gold and Jewelry Association

The Shenzhen Gold and Jewelry Association (SZGJA), established on March 12, 1990, and registered with the city’s Economic Development Bureau and Civil Affairs Bureau, is a non-profit industry organization for the gold and jewelry sector. It was renamed in August 1999. The association represents over 800 members from research, production, and trade sectors. It is based in Luohu District and has invested in three companies, including Shenzhen UnionPay Financing Guarantee Co., Ltd. and the Shenzhen Jewelry Testing Center. Its mission is to promote the development of Shenzhen’s jewelry industry while adhering to national laws. In 2023, the association organized a trade delegation to Thailand for business exchanges and signed strategic agreements with local jewelry organizations. The association also issued a warning in 2025 about illegal online gold trading activities, urging members to comply with the law and use proper hedging tools. The association president highlighted the strong growth of Shenzhen’s jewelry brands and launched a fraud prevention program in response to a rise in gold-related crimes in the Shuibei district.
