The Shandong Arts and Crafts Association, established in 1998 with approval from the Shandong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, is a self-regulatory industry organization and a Vice-Chair unit of the China Arts and Crafts Association. Rated as a 5A Social Organization in 2022, the association oversees 17 professional committees—including inside painting, ceramic arts, kites, and nut carving—and has over 600 member enterprises.
Its key responsibilities include industry research, drafting implementation guidelines for traditional craft protection, setting development plans and standards, and supporting cultural and technical exchanges and exhibitions. The association also assists with the nomination of national and provincial arts and crafts masters, professional titles, and skill certifications. Additionally, it organizes trade fairs, competitions, training programs, academic seminars, and guides regional craft-related activities across Shandong.
