GSM Association (GSMA)

The GSM Association (GSMA) is a global trade body representing the interests of mobile operators and the broader mobile ecosystem. Established in 1987, the GSMA unites nearly 750 mobile operators worldwide, along with more than 400 companies within the broader mobile technology ecosystem, including equipment manufacturers, software companies, and service providers. Its mission is to accelerate the growth of the mobile industry, promote mobile innovations, and drive positive societal and economic change through mobile technology.

The GSMA is perhaps best known for organizing the Mobile World Congress (MWC) events in cities like Barcelona, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Las Vegas, which are among the largest and most influential gatherings in the global mobile industry. These events serve as platforms for showcasing groundbreaking innovations in mobile technology, 5G, AI, IoT, and more, attracting industry leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the globe.
