The Chinese Association of Refrigeration (C.A.R.) is a national, non-profit academic organization representing China’s refrigeration and air-conditioning industry and is one of the first-level national societies under the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). Founded on April 25, 1977, and approved by the State Council in January 1978, the association represents China in the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). As of March 2018, C.A.R. operates 12 working committees and 6 specialized committees, with 620 corporate members, over 1,000 senior members, more than 13,000 registered individual members, and approximately 10,000 student members.
