China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF)

The China Machinery Industry Federation (中国机械工业联合会, CMIF) is the only national, comprehensive industry association serving China’s mechanical engineering and equipment sectors. It was established on March 8, 2001, following organizational reforms of China’s industrial ministries, and is supervised by the State‑owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

As a non‑profit, nationwide trade association, CMIF brings together professional mechanical industry associations, research institutes, universities, enterprises, and related organizations. Its main mission is to serve the government, the mechanical industry, and its member organizations by providing research, policy consultation, industry data, standards development, international cooperation, exhibitions, and networking services. The federation acts as a bridge between government and industry, helping to formulate industry development policies, promote international exchanges, support industry innovation, and strengthen China’s position in global machinery markets.
