China Animal Agriculture Association (CAAA)
China Animal Agriculture Association (中国畜牧业协会) is a national‑level, non‑profit industry association in China that represents enterprises, institutions, and individuals working in livestock and related industries such as animal breeding, animal health, feed, and product processing. It was formed on December 9, 2001, through the merger and expansion of several earlier industry groups, including poultry, swine, grassland and dog industry associations.
Supported by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, CAAA serves as a unified forum and service platform for China’s vast animal husbandry industry — one of the country’s most important agricultural sectors. The association’s scope includes: Industry coordination and self‑regulation, Information monitoring and data services, Policy research and consulting, Professional conferences, exhibitions and training, and Member services and international cooperation.
CAAA comprises multiple specialized sub‑associations covering specific animal categories (e.g., pig, poultry, cattle, sheep, rabbit, bee, pet industries) and related services, totaling over 20 professional branch groups.
It also runs media, exhibition, and standard‑setting activities, and acts as an advocate for industry interests to both domestic and international stakeholders.
