Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA)

The Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) (一般社団法人 カメラ映像機器工業会) is a non‑profit industry association based in Tokyo, Japan, with roots dating back to 1954 under the Japan Camera Industry Association. It was reorganized as CIPA in July 2002 to lead the imaging industry into the digital era and later became a general incorporated association in 2009. CIPA’s membership includes major global and Japanese camera and imaging companies engaged in the development, production, and sale of cameras, lenses, and related imaging devices. Its activities focus on formulating and promoting technical standards for interoperability and compatibility, conducting industry research and statistical surveys, providing market trend information, facilitating fair competition, and organizing exhibitions such as the CP+ (Camera & Photo Imaging Show). The association also addresses intellectual property, safety and environmental issues, and trade matters, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the global photography and imaging market.
