Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is the African Union’s continental health agency, established to strengthen public health systems, disease surveillance, laboratory capacity, and emergency response across Member States. Launched in 2017, it provides early warning systems, risk assessments, and technical support to manage infectious and non-communicable diseases, health emergencies, and disasters. Africa CDC promotes knowledge sharing, policy harmonization, capacity building, and regional collaboration to enhance public health preparedness and response throughout Africa.
