Youbot Robotics, a leading company in Shandong’s embodied intelligence sector, recently announced the completion of nearly 100 million yuan in Series A financing. The round was led by Jinan Financial Investment, with participation from Daxin Zhiyuan, Renxin Investment, and other industrial investors. The funding will focus on building two core capabilities:
On the technical side, the company aims to establish a complete “cerebrum-cerebellum collaboration” embodied intelligence architecture. Based on reinforcement learning, motion control, and VLA core algorithms, Youbot will advance system-level optimization of hardware and software, creating a full-chain technology loop from self-developed joint actuators and high-performance embedded platforms to perception-decision-control integration.
On the industrial side, the company will expand production lines to meet demand from nearly 100 million yuan in order reserves, strengthen independent manufacturing capacity, and improve cost management systems. This layout is designed to enhance product delivery and support large-scale commercial implementation.
Founded in 2014, Youbot Robotics specializes in legged robots, including bipedal, quadrupedal, and hexapod models. The core team comes from Shandong University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with long-term experience in artificial intelligence and specialized robotics research. The company has been recognized under Shandong’s Taishan Industry Leading Talent Plan and awarded titles including National High-Tech Enterprise, Shandong Specialized and Innovative SME, Shandong Innovative SME, and Shandong Gazelle Enterprise.
Youbot’s origins trace back to the national 863 “China Big Dog” project, providing a foundation in legged robotics over the past 20 years. Its legged and hydraulic special-purpose robots are applied across power inspection, emergency rescue, mining, and academic institutions.
The company possesses full-stack technology covering joint modules, robot body, motion-control cerebellum, and intelligent brain. Its modular VLA (Vision-Language-Action) architecture creates a unique competitive edge, supported by high-precision motion capture and multimodal human-machine collaboration systems.
Leveraging a decade of legged robotics expertise, Youbot developed the humanoid robot “Xingzhe Taishan” in less than two months in early 2024. At the first World Humanoid Robot Games, the robot achieved zero errors on a 100-meter obstacle course and won multiple awards, including the 100-meter performance race championship and 4×100-meter relay third place.
The completion of this nearly 100 million yuan Series A round marks the beginning of Youbot Robotics’ scale-up stage.
