fuarizmir was established on March 25, 2015, to meet the growing demand for exhibition space and to provide a platform suitable for world-class expos. Located in İzmir, a historic port city known for its deep commercial ties, fuarizmir was designed to replace Kültürpark, the venue that hosted Turkey’s first international expo, the İzmir International Fair, which began with the “Numune Meşheri” (Sample Exhibition) during the İzmir Economics Congress. Later renamed “9 Eylül Meşheri” (September 9th Exhibition), these early events are considered the first international fair in Turkey.
