India is hosting a four day AI Impact Summit aimed at attracting large scale artificial intelligence investment. The event is expected to draw 250,000 visitors and includes executives from major AI laboratories and technology firms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, and Cloudflare, along with global political leaders.

Confirmed attendees include Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, Mukesh Ambani, and Demis Hassabis. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to speak alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.

Government Investment and Policy Direction

India has allocated USD 1,100,000,000 for a state backed venture capital fund focused on artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing startups nationwide.

Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that India aims to attract over USD 200,000,000,000 in AI infrastructure investment over the next two years.

Government backed AI consortium BharatGen released a 17 billion parameter model named Param 2, designed to operate across 22 languages.

Major Corporate Investments

Indian conglomerate Adani Group announced plans to invest USD 100,000,000,000 by 2035 to build renewable energy powered AI data centers in India. The company stated this initiative could catalyze an additional USD 150,000,000,000 in related sectors including server manufacturing, advanced electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud platforms, and supporting industries.

Global investment firm Blackstone acquired a majority stake in Indian AI startup Neysa as part of a USD 600,000,000 equity fundraising. Other investors include Teachers’ Venture Growth, TVS Capital, 360 ONE Asset, and Nexus Venture Partners. Neysa plans to raise an additional USD 600,000,000 in debt and deploy more than 20,000 GPUs.

Semiconductor company AMD is partnering with Tata Consultancy Services to develop rack scale AI infrastructure based on AMD’s Helios platform.

OpenAI announced it will open two new offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. It also partnered with the Tata Group to deploy 100 megawatts of compute capacity in India, with plans to scale to 1 gigawatt.

Anthropic is opening its first India office in Bengaluru. The company stated that India is the second largest user base of Claude after the United States. Anthropic is also partnering with Infosys to deploy Claude models and related tools to Indian enterprises, beginning with the telecommunications sector through a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence.

Voice AI company Cartesia is collaborating with India based orchestrator Blue Machines to provide enterprise voice solutions with local data residency.

Cohere Labs launched multilingual open weight models supporting more than 70 languages, optimized for local device deployment and region specific tuning.

Streaming platform JioHotstar announced it will integrate ChatGPT to enhance content discovery through conversational search.

Startup Activity and Product Launches

Bengaluru based C2i raised USD 15,000,000 in a Series A round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Yali Deeptech and TDK Ventures. The company is developing power solutions for data centers.

Indian AI startup Sarvam introduced smart glasses under the name Sarvam Kaze. In recent weeks it released several models, including dubbing, speech to text, text to speech, and optical character recognition vision models. It also open sourced two new models, Sarvam 30B and Sarvam 105B, and announced partnerships with Qualcomm, HMD, and Bosch to deploy AI models across smartphones, feature phones, vehicles, laptops, and smart glasses.

Voice AI startup Gnani launched a zero shot voice cloning text to speech model named Vachana, supporting 12 languages.

India based startup Emergent reported reaching USD 100 in annual recurring revenue and released a mobile application.

Industry Outlook

Vineet Nayyar, CEO of HCL Technologies, stated that Indian IT firms will prioritize profitability rather than employment growth, amid concerns that AI may disrupt the IT services sector and pressure stock valuations.

Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, said that industries such as IT services and business process outsourcing could almost completely disappear within five years due to AI. He told Hindustan Times that India’s 250,000,000 young people should focus on selling AI based products and services globally.

The summit signals India’s attempt to position itself as a central node in global AI infrastructure, model development, and enterprise deployment, backed by large scale capital commitments and multinational partnerships.
