Japan Office and Institutional Furniture Association (JOIFA)

The Japan Office and Institutional Furniture Association (JOIFA) is a Japanese trade association established in its current form in 1990, with roots in earlier industry groups dating back to 1956. Based in Tokyo, JOIFA operates within the office and institutional furniture industry as a services-oriented organization focused on promoting the sound development of office furniture and related products. Its activities include industry research and data collection, public relations and office seminars, academic promotion and human resource development programs, and standards and certification efforts such as ISO/JIS standards and green purchasing guidelines. JOIFA also co-organizes major industry events including ORGATEC TOKYO in collaboration with Koelnmesse Co., Ltd., supporting design, communication and innovation across Japan’s office and institutional furniture sector.
