Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne AG is a private Swiss non-profit corporation established on 24 June 2013 that conducts and supports industry-oriented applied research and development in advanced technologies such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, medtech, energy storage, and automation. As part of the national and international Switzerland Innovation Foundation network, SIPBB operates a 15,500 m² innovation hub adjacent to the Biel/Bienne railway station in the canton of Bern. It provides infrastructure, laboratories, workspace, and technology services to companies, start-ups, and research teams, and hosts four specialized research centers including the Swiss Smart Factory, Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Center, Swiss Battery Technology Center, and Swiss HealthTech Center. The company’s mission is to attract research investment, support innovation, accelerate the transfer of research into marketable products, and foster collaboration between industry and academia.
