The Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone has initiated a second round of auto consumption promotion activities for 2025, running from March 7 to March 21. This initiative includes a total of 6 million RMB (approximately 830,000 USD) in automotive consumption subsidies, with 3 million RMB (approximately 415,000 USD) provided by government funds and an additional 3 million RMB (approximately 415,000 USD) in consumer benefits matched by car manufacturers.
The subsidies are categorized into two main types: for gasoline-powered vehicles and new energy vehicles (NEVs). This move aims to stimulate local car sales and support the automotive industry by offering a range of purchase incentives.
This initiative follows recent efforts by Hefei to promote battery-swappable electric vehicles, with subsidies of up to 10,000 RMB (approximately 1,380 USD) for eligible models from brands like NIO and Onvo. These subsidies are part of a broader strategy to encourage the adoption of cleaner energy vehicles and support local automotive businesses.
