Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS)

Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) is the national air navigation service provider for Saudi Arabia, responsible for managing the safe and efficient flow of air traffic across the Kingdom’s airspace. Established in 2016 and headquartered in Jeddah, SANS operates all air navigation systems including communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic control towers, and coordinates with military and adjacent ATC centers to ensure seamless flight operations.

SANS provides a wide range of services including air traffic management, aeronautical information, search and rescue support, and aeronautical communications. It manages vast airspace coverage of over 2 million km² and handles more than 1 million annual air traffic movements using advanced technologies and digital solutions.

The organisation supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals by enhancing aviation safety, adopting innovative systems such as Intelligent Approach for runway efficiency, and forming strategic partnerships with global air navigation partners to improve operational capacity and sustainability.
