The Center Overview

The Western China International Expo Center (West Expo City) serves as the permanent venue for the Western China International Fair, designated as a major exhibition project by the provincial government and a significant development for the Tianfu New Area. Initiated in September 2012, with the foundation laid and named by Wu Bangguo, then Chairman of the National People’s Congress, West Expo City integrates transport, hotels, offices, and commercial facilities into a comprehensive exhibition district. Managed by Sichuan Tianfu International Convention and Exhibition Co., Ltd., West Expo City’s Phase I, completed in August 2016 with 305,000 square meters of exhibition space, began operation in June 2017, hosting significant events such as the Chengdu Furniture Fair and the National Sugar and Alcohol Fair. With its Phase II, including a conference center and hotel, under construction and expected to complete by the end of 2019, West Expo City seeks to enhance its capacity to host large-scale events, underpinning its role in elevating Chengdu’s exhibition infrastructure to the foremost in Central and Western China.
